Embengo FC have been crowned champions of the third edition of the KATRICO League after finishing the season with 64 points in Kabale.
The league, which kicked off in September 2025, concluded on June 28, 2026, at Kabale Municipal Stadium. The final attracted thousands of spectators, including alumni and current students of Kabale Trinity College.
Embengo FC finished top of the table with 64 points, narrowly edging Omutidi FC, who finished second with 62 points.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, KATRICO League Publicity Secretary Joshua Taremwa described the third edition as a success, attributing the league's continued growth to strong leadership, committed members, and sustained support from the school administration.
Participant Shalom Kirungi said the league provides a platform for former students of Kabale Trinity College to reconnect, strengthen friendships, and promote unity.
Kabale Trinity College Director Joab Tumwebarize said hosting the league in Kabale helps foster solidarity among alumni while strengthening ties between former and current students.
"The competition revives cherished memories while creating a lasting legacy that connects former and current students," Tumwebarize said.
Organisers said preparations are underway for the fourth edition of the KATRICO League, which is expected to kick off in August 2026.
